Singer Hyun Mee
Singer Hyun Mee, known for her popular song “Night Fog”, passed away on April 4th at the age of 85. She collapsed at her home and was transferred to a nearby hospital, but ultimately passed away. She began her singing career in 1957 and gained popularity with the release of “Night Fog”. Her funeral was attended by numerous fellow celebrities, including Ha Chun-hwa, Sul Woon-do and Hyun Sook.
ASTRO’s Moonbin
ASTRO’s Moonbin, aged 25, passed away on April 19th, causing shockwaves throughout the music industry. Official schedules were canceled and Moonbin’s younger sister, and close friends took breaks due to the shock. His funeral was private, and the burial site was not disclosed.
Musical actress Park Soo-ryun
Musical actress Park Soo-ryun (real name Park Young-in) tragically passed away on June 11th after suffering a fall. Her family decided to donate her organs to honor her warm-hearted nature.
Actor Byun Hee-bong
Veteran actor Byun Hee-bong passed away on September 18th while battling pancreatic cancer. Starting his entertainment career in 1966, he gained fame through significant works and later made a strong impression with his performances in director Bong Joon-ho’s films.
Actor Noh Young-gook
Actor Noh Young-gook passed away suddenly due to cardiac arrest on the morning of September 18th. Debuting in 1974, he gained love for his roles in various works, including dramas and movies.
Actor Lee Sun-kyun
Actor Lee Sun-kyun was found dead in a park in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of December 27th. Previously investigated for drug use in October. Starting his acting career in 2001, Lee Sun-kyun gained popularity through numerous hit dramas and rose to international stardom with the 2019 film “Parasite”. Lee Sun-kyun bid farewell at the age of 48, leaving behind his wife – fellow actress Jeon Hye-jin – and two sons.
