[theqoo] NEWJEANS’ REPS “HYBE OUSTED MIN HEEJIN… THE CURRENT ADOR IS A DIFFERENT CORPORATION”

On the morning of the 3rd at 11:30 AM, the Civil Division 41 of the Seoul Central District Court held the first hearing for the lawsuit filed by ADOR against NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) to confirm the validity of their exclusive contract.

During the hearing, NewJeans’ representatives stated, “Each individual reason for contract termination that the plaintiff (ADOR) argues may not be sufficient on its own, but when taken together, the ultimate conclusion is that the trust between the two parties has been irreparably broken.”

They continued, “If an entire management team is replaced, the legal entity may remain the same on paper, but in reality, it becomes a completely different corporation. This isn’t just about Min Heejin. After HYBE ousted Min Heejin and installed a new management team under their directives, the ADOR that the defendants (NewJeans members) originally signed with and the current ADOR are legally the same entity but fundamentally different in values.”

As a result, NewJeans members argue that they can no longer fulfill their contract with the current ADOR, as it is no longer the same company they originally entrusted. They stated, “The fundamental trust has been shattered, and we cannot continue together. Please do not just focus on Min Heejin alone. In this situation, where she has been ousted, is the current ADOR truly the same entity the defendants once trusted? Would forcing them to stay in this changed ADOR align with justice? We urge the court to consider this carefully.”

The conflict between NewJeans and ADOR began in November last year, when the members declared their intent to terminate their exclusive contract, claiming ADOR had broken their trust, and hinted at pursuing independent activities. In February, they introduced their new group name, NJZ, and surprised fans with a performance of new songs at ComplexCon in Hong Kong.

However, after their performance, NewJeans announced, “We have decided to fully comply with the court’s ruling and halt all activities. This was not an easy decision, but it is necessary for us at this time,” effectively declaring a temporary hiatus.

1. Phew, I lost the main agenda. Their logic is so poor too

2. ADOR offered Min the right to produce, but she refused… Company management isn’t something the members should be involved in, nor is it within the scope of their exclusive contracts, so I don’t understand why they’re acting like this.

3. Kids, do you think that your company is that easy?

4. “Who cares about the law? I just don’t want to do ittttttt!!”

5. Lawyers are an extreme profession, arguing using their client’s bullsh*tㅋㅋ

6. But there’s nothing else they can say but this

7. Kids like them exist too soㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ They’re young, uneducated, and irresponsible, but the adults around them are the real problem

8. Uhm.. everything will be fine if you guys follow the law

9. It’s a shame that they don’t know anything because they never participated in society

10. Did they never study? How can they make such stupid claims??
