Former After School member and broadcaster Lizzy shared her deep feelings of depression during a live broadcast, heightening fans’ concerns.

During an Instagram Live broadcast on the 28th, Lizzy candidly discussed her life in the entertainment industry and her mental state. She began by stating, “Being a celebrity is a profession where everything is exposed,” adding, “If someone says they want to do this job, I’d want to dissuade them. Especially for female idols, it’s an extremely difficult job.”

She continued, “I don’t regret choosing this career itself, but I blame myself a lot for my actions,” confessing, “My depression became so severe that I had extreme thoughts, leading to my account being suspended, which is why I came here.”

Lizzy tearfully expressed, “People say the world is good, so why are you struggling? But I’m the one who’s really struggling. I try to live, but there are times when my heart breaks,” sparking viewers’ concern. During the broadcast, she also showed emotional distress over questions about her appearance and plastic surgery, as well as malicious comments.

Lizzy debuted as an After School member in 2010 and gained immense popularity alongside Nana and Reina as part of the unit Orange Caramel. She later faced a fine for a 2021 drunk driving incident and took an extended hiatus. Recently, she cautiously announced her return by holding a solo fan meeting in Japan.
