[theqoo] PEOPLE HATE ENCOUNTERING THESE PEOPLE IN THE STREETS MORE THAN THEY HATE ENCOUNTERING CULTS

Various NGOs put up stickers boards, “Please just stick one on before you go~ Please fill out the survey~”
Those kinds of people are almost always part-time workers.

They take a commission based on the amount of the donation.

1. I heard someone tell me, “If you’re already donating to X group, why not donate to just one more?” it’s getting ridiculous

2. At first they just ask you to put on a sticker, but then suddenly they grab you and push you to sponsor them… After experiencing it a few times, it honestly kills any desire to donate.

3. If I donate 50,000 won, it should be used 100% for the cause, but they skim this and that, pay people like them salaries, use it for operating costs… seriously, who am I even donating for? Why should I be supporting perfectly able-bodied young people? There have been tons of cases where donation money gets spent on staff dinners, workshops, ads, promotion, and operating expenses, and then they get caught for corruption, you could name a few and everyone would recognize them

4. Once you give them the time of day, it never ends. I once showed a bit of interest because I was genuinely curious about that NGO, and ended up stuck listening to a long speech. I only got away after being blunt and saying something harsh. Honestly, it’s better for everyone to ignore them from the start. If you try to listen and then leave, you have to be really firm for them to stop

5. Honestly, I already look like an easy target, so since my 20s I’ve been through all kinds of cult surveys, sticker campaigns, and whatnot. The best method is not to respond at all, don’t even look at them, just hold your phone and walk past. Never let them put a sticker on you. Don’t even say “no thanks” or “I’m good”, just pretend to be on your phone and keep moving.

6. I seriously hate it. They throw out sales lines like “just a quick break~” and then start talking while tapping your arm with the hand holding the sticker, so annoying.

7. I really, really hate it. They chase after you asking you to put a sticker on

8. They’ll follow you all the way to the end of the street too

9. I don’t like them either. But maybe because I look so broke, they never bother me when I dress poorly

10. If the executives at the top just reduced their salaries, they could help a lot more people
