While relatives and colleagues are mourning the passing of Lee Sun-kyun, the actor’s agency released a notice
On December 28th, Lee Sun-kyun’s agency HODU&U Entertainment released an official position, saying “Thank you everyone for mourning the late actor Lee Sun-kyun on his last journey”, adding “However, all the schedules of the funeral proceedings, including the burial, will be conducted privately, so we earnestly ask you to mourn only in your heart”.
The agency complained, “It does not mean we don’t understand the hard work of reporters. However, some media outlets’ reporters have visited the deceased’s home, company office, and funeral hall without prior notice, and the bereaved family is very upset about it”.
They added, “In addition, people who introduced themselves as YouTubers have been visiting the funeral hall indiscriminately day and night, causing confusion and disturbance that is getting too difficult to handle.”
Lastly, the agency said, “Once again, we sincerely ask you to help us allow the bereaved family, colleagues, and acquaintances to mourn the deceased, whom we have to bid farewell to so suddenly, and his last journey”.
The funeral of Lee Sun-kyun is being conducted at the Seoul National University Hospital’s funeral hall. Among the colleagues who visited and mourned the deceased, there was director Bong Joon-ho, actors Ji Seung-hyun, Moon Geun-young, Seol Kyung-gyu, Cho Jin-woong, etc.
Meanwhile, the investigation into Lee Sun-kyun’s drug charges is expected to end because it is no longer possible to prosecute the suspect.
