1. [+2,794, -749] Come on, can you really consider that a hanbok? ㅋㅋ Have you not seen Joseon pictures? ㅋㅋ

2. [+2,178, -525] Whenever people design yukatas, they try to stay within the boundaries of the original design… but this is just… a hanbok only in material?? Just because you put a label on something doesn’t mean you can go around promoting it as traditional Korean clothing.

3. [+1,894, -1,049] Why are there so many old farts in the comments? Black Pink changed it up in time with the current trends. Why are you bringing up stuff about the Joseon dynasty and gisaengs and whatnot ㅋㅋㅋ why so twisted?

4. [+105, -56] Sure, times are changing and I think it’s more beneficial to promote the hanbok this way!

5. [+101, -29] It just looks like Chinese clothing from traditional martial arts films. The neckline itself isn’t a hanbok at all. If you’re going to call something a hanbok, you still have to carry some basic attributes of it. You can’t just call a random piece of clothing a hanbok because you tagged a norigae on it. This is even worse than some of the rental hanboks given out near goongs.

6. [+87, -59] Sometimes you have to roll with the changes of the time. Why are there so many old farts here?

7. [+80, -18] I think they went too far with the reinterpretation of the hanbok. Looks like an outfit you’d find in a Chinese mobile game.

8. [+49, -55] I screamed when I saw them wearing it at the end of the music video~~~~~ so pretty!!! What’s up with the best replies, though… we’re not living in the Joseon dynasty, you know ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

9. [+40, -37] Well, why would you expect Black Pink to be dancing in traditional hanboks? If styling it like this helps foreigners take an interest in hanbok and google it up themselves, it’s a form of promotion in its own right… Too many conservatives lately.

10. [+36, -23] I think it’s amazing enough that by wearing this, they’ve caused foreigners to be interested in our culture… what are you all so uncomfortable about??

11. [+33, -11] They did reinterpret a lot of it but I can see that the roots of the outfits are in hanbok. Culture is bound to change with changing times from styles to architecture to food to thought. That’s how outfits from all our past dynasties have come down. Even the outfits worn in the Joseon dynasty are so different before and after. Just because the hanboks worn today are different from those worn in the Joseon dynasty does not make it any less of a hanbok. It’s just you being narrow minded.

12. [+29, -29] People need to loosen up. Fusion hanboks have been around for decades already.
