Ahead of their upcoming comeback on May 11, DAY6 participated in a photo shoot and interview with The Star magazine!
Their shoot for the May issue of The Star had the theme of “A unique spring Sunday afternoon.” In the interview, the group shared what they have been up to. Young K said, “We’ve been busy preparing for our album and trying out new things.” Dowoon added, “I’ve been preparing for our album and practicing the drums.”
When asked where they get their inspiration from, Sungjin answered, “I gain a lot from both direct and indirect experiences as well as any stories that move me.” Jae replied, “I write songs by matching and associating words and filling the ideas as I go.” Wonpil shared, “Typically when I write songs, I do a lot of imagining.”
Regarding what they think is the most important aspect of their performances, Jae commented, “Energy! I believe we can breathe and communicate with our audience through energy.” Wonpil added, “I find communication to be the most important. I work to properly convey the emotions I feel on stage to our audience. There are times when I think everyone in the concert hall is feeling the same emotion and I really like when that happens.”
The group also shared what kind of performance they would one day like to stage. Young K and Dowoon responded, “One of our goals is to hold an outdoor concert like a festival.”
When asked what DAY6’s dream is, Sungjin shared, “We want to stay strong and continue making music healthily and happily.” Wonpil added, “Even after a lot of time passes, we want to make music that doesn’t age.”
