Fans Call For Better On-Stage Safety Precautions After Members Of NCT And ITZY Fall While Performing In The Rain

Fans were shocked to see members of NCT 127 and ITZY slip to the ground while performing at the Onctact 2021 Gangnam Festival K-Pop Concert. Many are urging concert organizers to more strongly consider the safety of idols especially during outdoor performances.

NCT 127 performed their recent title track, “Sticker,” as well as their b-side “Lemonade” and 2020 single “Kick It.” The festival took place in the rain, and though the stage crew attempted to clean in between some performances, the amount of water on stage was still hazardous.

While performing “Kick It,” Jaehyun slipped on stage and fell to the ground. He recovered quickly from it and continued on to give a flawless performance, prompting fans to trend “YOU DID WELL JAEHYUN” to applaud his professionalism.

However, many were upset after seeing Jaehyun’s incident, especially because he fell on the same hand that was injured earlier this year.

Doyoung also fell while performing the song “Lemonade,” causing “Doyoung” to trend on Twitter as fans banded together to praise him for his hard work and dedication.

Unfortunately, Jaehyun and Doyoung were not the only NCT 127 members to have trouble with the stage conditions. Haechan appeared to have almost lost his footing as well while performing “Sticker.”

And Johnny narrowly managed to avoid falling onto the stage during “Kick It.”

Furthermore, NCT weren’t the only artists who were affected by the weather. ITZY‘s Lia fell onto the stage while the group performed “Swipe.” She recovered quickly and finished the performance perfectly, leading fans to praise her professionalism, though many were concerned over her well-being.

With in-person concerts slowly starting up again, and with previous knowledge of on-stage accidents leading to injuries and even hiatus, fans hope that concert organizers will be more cautious in the future.
