The global girl group Cosmosy has unveiled themselves.
At midnight on the 31st, NTT Docomo Studio & Live announced Cosmosy’s official debut through their SNS channels, releasing the music video for their debut single, “zigy=zigy.”
The released music video for “zigy=zigy” was created by a crew that has worked on the creative aspects for major girl groups like BLACKPINK, aespa, and LE SSERAFIM, adding synergy to the project. The video showcases the individuality and identity of Cosmosy’s all-Japanese members and vividly portrays the worldview of girls growing in both a fantasy world and a new world.
“zigy=zigy” is a K-pop dance song based on Afro-pop sounds, harmoniously blending Eastern traditional moods. It not only shows Cosmosy’s unique musical approach but also honestly addresses the internal conflicts and struggles with identity of teenage girls facing a breakup.
The song is particularly impressive with its bouncy pluck synth sounds and the unexpected charm of its chorus, while its addictive melody evokes the feeling of traditional games. The lyrics, written in English, Korean, and Japanese, are expected to captivate global fans.
The stunning producer lineup is also a highlight. “zigy=zigy” features the hidden producer group “Citizens of Cosmos” and the A&R producing crew “Amplified,” with the overall production, from music to concept, managed by creative director Sinxity, who has worked on projects like BLACKPINK’s debut and “As If It’s Your Last.”
Additionally, the choreography was created by Mood Dok, a choreographer from YGX who has garnered attention for his work on various K-pop performances, perfectly blending a dreamy and Eastern atmosphere with the performance.
Cosmosy is a 4-member girl group consisting entirely of Japanese members: a’mei, de_hana, himesha, and kamión. Their team name symbolizes “COSMOS of Youth,” representing “the potential of youth,” “infinite space,” and “growth and conflict.”
A representative from their agency, Docomo Studio & Live, stated, “Details regarding the label partners and digital services for the global debut will be announced soon,” and expressed their determination to introduce a new charm to K-pop fans worldwide.
1. I bet groups debuting on January 1st will call themselves 7th generation
2. They’re J-pop alright. So are all groups “K-pop” just because they use K-pop resources? ㅋㅋ
3. 6th generation ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
4. ????? There’s no clear 5th gen group yet and they’re already talking like that ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
5. 6th generation?
6. They’re just a Japanese group
7. Fact: We’re still in the 4th generation
8. Even calling anyone 5th generation feels forced now, you’re telling me this is the 6th generation? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
9. 6th generation? And they’re all Japanese?
