Actor Byun Wooseok will be the only Korean actor to appear on stage at the Hong Kong Comic Con.

Byun Wooseok will attend the opening ceremony of Hong Kong Comic Con on May 29, and later that evening at 8 p.m. he will participate in a special talk session titled “HKCC Special: 2026 Asia Spotlight.”

Since this is the first-ever Hong Kong Comic Con, the organizers put significant effort into inviting guests. Byun Wooseok was invited as both a representative Korean actor and an Asian star, and he will help kick off the event.

As the session title suggests, the event is expected to spotlight leading stars from across Asia. Byun Wooseok rose to stardom through the 2024 drama Lovely Runner. His performance in the series earned him not only domestic popularity but also global recognition, establishing him as one of Asia’s representative stars. More recently, he led the success of his comeback drama after a two-year hiatus, Perfect, with a more mature performance.

Comic Con, which originated in the United States, has grown into one of the world’s largest events covering all aspects of 21st-century pop culture. Companies involved in comics, games, and film content set up major booths to showcase their work to the public. Although it began as a nonprofit gathering, it has evolved into a major international festival attended by creators, producers, industry professionals, major media outlets, and film studios.

Hong Kong Comic Con will be held from May 29 to 31 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

1. Wow I just realized that he’s not going to reflect one bit
