Actor Kim Soo-hyun has officially begun a legal battle against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron. He mentioned 12 billion won at a press conference, but the actual lawsuit amount is known to be 11 billion won.

The court in charge of the damages lawsuit filed by Kim Soo-hyun against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron and the YouTube channel “Garosero Research Institute” was assigned on the 1st.

According to the legal community on the 2nd, the Seoul Central District Court assigned the damages claim lawsuit filed by Kim Soo-hyun to Director General Jeong Ha-jeong of the Civil Settlement Division 14. Kim Soo-hyun’s side stated at a press conference held on the 31st of last month that they filed a lawsuit worth over 12 billion won, but the amount submitted to the court was 11 billion won.

At the press conference, Kim Soo-hyun rebutted the allegations raised, stating, “I did not have a relationship with the deceased when they were a minor. Additionally, it is not true that the deceased made a tragic choice due to my behavior or because my agency pressured them about their debt.”

He then pointed to a KakaoTalk message allegedly written by the late Kim Sae-ron, saying, “There are too many incorrect facts in this message to assert that the deceased wrote it. The year 2016 was also a photo from 2019. Furthermore, the age difference between us cannot be mistaken. Also, the name of the agency I was with for 4 years and the contract period cannot be completely wrong. The deceased only worked as a contracted actor with our company and did not participate in rookie casting or visual directing.” He raised suspicions of evidence manipulation against the family and Gaseyeon.

Kim Soo-hyun’s legal representative stated, “Our law firm has just filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station against the family members and the unidentified person who claims to be an aunt, as well as the operator of Gaseyeon, for defamation due to the dissemination of false information using the information and communications network, attaching the emotional reports mentioned by Kim Soo-hyun as evidence. Additionally, we submitted a lawsuit seeking damages of 12 billion won for the financial losses and emotional distress incurred by Kim Soo-hyun and the agency to the Seoul Central District Court today.”
