[instiz] HYBE, “CLAIMS OF REVERSE VIRALITY ARE FALSE… CONSIDERING NECESSARY ACTION AGAINST FALSE ALLEGATIONS”

HYBE has once again denied carrying out reverse viral marketing.

On the 12th, No Cut News reported HYBE’s stance on the ‘Weekly Music Industry Report’ (an internal HYBE document).

According to the report, HYBE stated that they are planning to take appropriate action regarding the former editor-in-chief of Weverse Magazine, who was responsible for the document, after internal review. The former editor-in-chief is currently on leave.

HYBE explained that the former editor-in-chief created the internal document as a task separate from Weverse Magazine production, and that the personnel who requested monitoring-related tasks were members distinct from the Weverse Magazine production team.

Earlier on the 1st, an individual claiming to be a HYBE employee released additional internal documents, stating, “Contrary to the claim that reverse viralily was not conducted, many aspects mentioned in this report were actually carried out as planned.”

The individual emphasized, “The purpose of this report is clear. Someone gave orders with a specific purpose, and others diligently followed those orders.”

HYBE reiterated its stance, saying, “The claim that we engaged in reverse virality is not true.”

They added, “We are currently considering necessary actions regarding the false claims about reverse viral marketing.”

The fallout from the HYBE document, which was first revealed during last month’s National Assembly audit, continues despite an apology from CEO Lee Jae-sang.

A petition to cancel HYBE’s designation as a ‘Top Company’ was submitted through the National Assembly’s electronic petition platform, garnering more than 50,000 signatures.

HYBE stated that they have apologized to the CEO of the artist’s agency mentioned in the document through a phone call or a formal letter issued by CEO Lee Jae-sang.

Netizens have reacted with comments like, “HYBE is lying again,” “So they used external personnel to create that dirty report instead of Weverse Magazine staff? That’s even more serious,” “I’m curious about which department those separate personnel belong to,” and “Stop hunting for whistleblowers and clean out the corruption.”
