[instiz] HYBE’S INTERNAL DOCUMENT AFTERMATH… “I DON’T WANT TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THEM” VS “WHAT CRIME DID THE IDOLS COMMIT?” CONTROVERSY OVER CHALLENGES

After the internal documents of HYBE were made public, reactions to the challenges of its affiliated idol groups have been mixed.

On the 9th, the petition titled Request for the Cancellation of HYBE’s Top Business Designation’ on the National Petition website has garnered over 50,000 signatures.

This petition has been referred to the relevant committee and will undergo review by the Petition Review Subcommittee before being either presented to the full assembly or discarded.

HYBE has recently been embroiled in various controversies, including the ‘Music Industry Report’, allegations of covering up an employee’s death from overwork, and more.

On the other hand, NewJeans member Hanni revealed workplace bullying, and CEO Kim Jooyoung of ADOR attended the National Assembly audit, along with HYBE’s Chief Content Officer (CCO) Kim Tae-ho, who also appeared for questioning.

Through the National Assembly audit, the so-called ‘HYBE Internal Document’, specifically the ‘Weekly Music Industry Report’, was made public.

An individual, A, who claimed to be a HYBE employee, further exposed documents and alleged that reverse viral marketing (trolling) had indeed been carried out.

Although HYBE issued an apology, the controversy continues to stir.

Moreover, reactions are divided regarding the participation of HYBE-affiliated idols in challenges with idols from other agencies.

Netizens have reacted to challenges involving HYBE idols, with comments like, ‘Now this group will probably be added to the document’, ‘I hope my group isn’t associated with HYBE idols for no reason,’ and ‘Given the situation, I’d prefer if HYBE idols didn’t participate in challenges.’

On the other hand, some have expressed sympathy, saying, ‘Why are they mocking young kids? What crime they do commit?’, ‘Can we stop bullying young girls under the pretext of these documents?’, and ‘People who mock others for no reason aren’t much different from HYBE itself.’

Attention is now focused on whether HYBE’s Top Business designation will be revoked. The Top Business designation offers benefits such as tax audit deferrals, exemption from tax collateral, customs audit deferrals, extended deadlines and installment payments, preferential interest rates, and preferential guarantees.

1. And if they turn down the challenge offer, wouldn’t HYBE’s associated media start write negative viral posts about these groups?

2. No matter how you look at it, the only ones to be blamed here is HYBE

3. Even if they get associated with those groups, they’ll get criticized in their internal documents and get bad press. What can they do?

4. This is all because of HYBE, just concentrate on hating HYBE

5. If they keep doing challenges together, they’ll keep getting backstabbed in the documents, so what’s the point of doing it? Just let the HYBE princes and princesses shoot among themselves

6. But if they shoot a challenge together, they’ll get negative virality associated with them

7. They brought all this upon themselves

8. Whether they decide to do challenges with HYBE idols or not isn’t what I care about. But all I can think of is HYBE’s internal document

9. Who would want to do challenges with them…? Those idols’ fans will hate this, HYBE idols’ fans will hate this too

10. The company is to blamed for this
