I-DLE’s Minnie and Yuqi shared some concerns about their agency.
On May 13, the YouTube channel ‘TEO’ uploaded a video titled “The day we’ve waited so long for is finally here|EP. 90 (G)I-DLE Minnie & Yuqi.”
In the video, host Jang Do-yeon mentioned to Minnie, “I heard you spent 10 million won of your own money to invite 100 acquaintances to your concert.”
Yuqi then added, “When we hold concerts in Thailand, all of [Minnie’s] family, friends, schoolmates, and acquaintances are there.” She continued, “I don’t understand why we have to buy our own concert tickets. To be exact, we only get four free tickets each, and the rest we have to pay for ourselves.”
This remark drew backlash from fans. Comments included: “Isn’t getting 100 tickets in the first place already a privilege?” “Isn’t that the kind of thing that’ll get you roasted by fans?” “If you just want to hang out with your friends, have a private party instead of a concert.”
1. Then why not just hold a free concert for your acquaintance?? Seriously from an idol fans’ perspective, people are so desperate just to get one ticket, but seeing all the idols acquaintances there really gives you a reality slap
2. But isn’t she kind of right though? It’s not like she was begging to get 100 tickets for free. The topic came up because someone mentioned she spent 10 million won generously, that’s when the personal expense thing came up, right? She just said she had to pay out of pocket because that’s how it works, how does that get twisted into “she expected to get 100 tickets for free”? When you look at other concerts, invitation tickets often end up on resale sites. Isn’t it somewhat understandable that an artist might be confused about only getting four free tickets for their own show, especially if they want to invite people they personally know?
3. Hmmm… But it’s not like they’re not given any tickets at all, they’re all given 4 tickets. I think it’s only fair to pay out of your pocket for extra tickets
4. Did that concert even sell out? I’m more shocked that they were planning to steal 100 seats from people
5. Celebrities earn such good money, but the moment they’re asked to spend, they’re so stingy. Meanwhile, they think that it’s only natural for fans to keep spending
6. If you look at the video it doesn’t seem like they thought it was a big deal
7. Wow…
8. But don’t most idols need to do this?
9. They really need to make ticketing more fair for everyone
10. But she’s already given a few tickets
