Along with this, the development of phone camera apps and filters has made people more sensitive to facial features, and the short face, including the mid-face, has become the standard of beauty. Apps such as Soda, Snow, and Beauty+ have functions that adjust the mid and lower face to make the face appear shorter, but there are no features to elongate the mid and lower face.

On YouTube and blogs, content such as “makeup for a shorter mid-face” and “treatment reviews” have also gained attention.

A beauty YouTuber, Risabae, with 2.51 million subscribers, posted a video titled “Mid-Face Reduction Tips,” which surpassed 2.88 million views in 10 months. Plastic surgery experts explain that a short mid-face makes a person appear younger, while a long mid-face can give off a more mature image.
