Singer IU will be making her comeback as a musician next month.

According to TenAsia’s report on the 12th, IU is currently in the final stages of preparation for a comeback set for May. This will be her first new album in 1 year and 3 months since the release of her 6th mini album The Winning in February last year.

It has been confirmed that singer and actor Cha Eunwoo will make a special cameo appearance in the music video for IU’s upcoming song, acting alongside her. The two previously collaborated in a jewelry brand pictorial released in February, raising anticipation about the melody and storyline they’ll portray together in the new MV. Their visual chemistry is also drawing attention.

Meanwhile, IU recently returned to the public as an actress. She starred in the Netflix series When Life Gives You Tangerines, which concluded in March, playing dual roles as the characters Aesoon and Geummyeong. Her next project is already confirmed: she’ll be starring opposite Byeon Woo-seok in the upcoming MBC drama 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife, slated to air in the first half of next year.
