[instiz] MY PROPOSAL THAT GOT ME ACCEPTED INTO SM IS WAY TOO SIMILAR TO AESPA’S ALBUM JACKET;;;

This was a proposal I submitted after passing the document screening for SM’s Visual Planning team, before aespa’s MY WORLD album came out, but I ended up getting rejected in the interview stage.
But this time, when I saw aespa’s LEMONADE album cover…
it felt way too similar to my proposal…
Especially things like using shadows to create object effects, the planned lighting setup for the shoot, the retouching style, and so on.
And the black-and-white photo in my proposal where only the eyes glow 
that wasn’t just some random image I found online.
I personally edited it to darken the whole image and brighten only the eyes
I just didn’t have any suitable photos to explain the concept idea, so I used that
If they thought the proposal was good, they could’ve at least hired me.
After spending two years trying to get into the entertainment industry, getting rejected by both SM and The Black Label,
my mental health fell apart, I ran out of money, gave up, and moved back to my hometown…
So seeing something like this now really hurts.ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

1. I’ve seen how even small things like entering contests on social media get used later in marketing ad copy. I can relate to how frustrating this must feel *pat pat*

4. The intention behind using eye effects and shadows for the objects in the proposal was to create a continuity, and seeing how perfectly they pulled it out, it really looks like they referenced it. It’s such a shame, considering how good you are at producing visuals. I think you would do great working in the industry

8. What the… the details are exactly the same. Isn’t that image the main concept visual for this album? They just interviewed you, you’re not even their employee, so how can they just copy the main concept from someone else’s proposal exactly?

10. I also designed a logo for a famous brand, but since I made it while working at that company, I didn’t really benefit from it. I think there were guidelines regarding that when I applied… Still, if a major corporation used it, your idea must have been really good. I understand how you feel…
