Can’t they just go all out like before? There’s nothing like high-pitched ad-libs to charge up dopamine with a 3-minute song

I honestly think the charm of idol music, even within mainstream pop, is how much they manage to show in just about 3 minutes, while still maintaining musical quality. That’s why I like songs that are well-structured with a clear beginning, development, climax, and ending ㅎㅎ I wish we had more songs with powerful high notes again, like in the 2nd and 3rd generations.

1. If you look at the current generation, there are only a select few who got acknowledged for their singing, there’s barely anyone who can be called a ‘good singer’. That’s why they can’t force them to go ‘all out’ and instead resort to ‘easy to listen’ songs, that’s why it’s the trend 

2. No but what’s interesting is that I only listen to my own bias group’s songs (because it’s my taste) but it’s true that I’ve never heard anyone else do high notes like them.. And the more time passes, the more this group is mastering high notes, their main vocals are the best… 

3. I can agree with OP so much ㅋㅋㅋ That’s why nowadays, I’ve stopped listening to idol music and just normal music 

4. It’s one thing to sing high notes, but it’s also another thing that they just don’t have any talent in singing

5. I can’t think of anyone aside from Taeyeon, Hyolyn, Raina and Park Bom who are able to sing high notes easily. I hope we can have more main vocals like them. There used to be so many masterpiece from the past

6. Ah seriously, even my bias group doesn’t have a single main vocal, and not a single member would even be considered a ‘good singer’. People are coping saying ‘high notes are so old-fashioned’ but I find it laughable that they call ‘easy to listen songs are trend’ now 

7. They have no talent in singing so they have no high notes parts

9. Nowadays, it’s all about no high notes, easy to listen, short songs, and viral songs for Tik Tok
