Shindong replied, “Whether or not there’s an opportunity, those who can do it well, will do it well; those who can’t, won’t. People who know how to take care of their own plate always do well. I think it’s all about personal effort. If someone really wants to date, really wants a girlfriend, then even at a TV station or when meeting a fellow celebrity, they’ll ask for a number. But if they feel like it’s not really their thing, they won’t bother to make a move.”
He continued, “Just looking at me, of course looks play a role, but from what I’ve seen around me, it’s all about confidence. They just go for it. They make things fun, share a drink together, socialize, and then everyone easily exchanges contact information.”
When JM said, “Maybe it’s because the people around you are all confident?” Shindong replied, “Maybe it’s because I’ve only seen people like that? I don’t have any lifelong singles around me. I guess entertainers have a certain confidence about them, so that’s a plus.”
He also revealed that he gets a lot of DMs from female fans. Shindong said, “Of course, I get a lot. But I hardly ever check them. And these days, you can’t really trust appearances on social media, right? A person’s first impression is their looks. A DM might come in, I click the profile, and the person is stunning, my type. But then if I meet them in person, I might be disappointed. Because of that, I just can’t reply. I don’t know who they are. I might send a DM if I’m really interested in someone, but replying to DMs that come in is difficult.”
