Influencer Choi Hyeseon, who appeared in Single’s Inferno 3 and Bloody Game 3, has apologized for posting a video of the Jeju Air crash.

On the 31st, Choi Hye-seon posted a message on her Instagram story that read, “Rest in peace to the deceased,” along with a video of the Jeju Air crash.

Netizens criticized her for including footage of the crash itself, stating that while expressing condolences is not problematic, sharing a video that vividly depicts the accident was inappropriate. In response to the backlash, Choi deleted the story and posted an apology: “I was truly thoughtless. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt.”

Unlike her usual posts, the story had a plain black background without any accompanying images or videos.

On the morning of the 29th, Jeju Air Flight 7C 2216, carrying 181 passengers from Bangkok to Muan, crashed while landing on the runway at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do. The accident claimed 179 lives. In response, the government designated a national mourning period until January 4.

Choi Hyeseon, a student at Ewha Womans University majoring in Life Sciences and Bioinformatics, gained recognition through Netflix’s Single’s Inferno 3 and Wavve’s Bloody Game 3.
