Taeil, who was expelled from the group NCT due to r*** allegations, is facing his first court hearing today.

On June 18, the 26th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court will hold the first trial for Taeil and two others, who are charged with violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of S** Crimes (specifically, attempted r*** under special circumstances).

The trial was initially scheduled for May 12, but was postponed to today.

Taeil was indicted for allegedly sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman along with two acquaintances in June 2023.

The charge of special attempted r*** applies when a weapon is used or multiple perpetrators are involved in assaulting a victim who is in a state of helplessness or unconsciousness.

Police summoned Taeil for questioning in August, two months after the initial report. He was then transferred to the prosecution in September.

Unlike his accomplices, Taeil reportedly refused to be investigated at the time, citing health issues.

Controversy grew when Taeil continued to interact with fans via live broadcasts the day after being booked, and even attended an NCT 127 fan meeting in August of the same year.

SM Entertainment later announced his removal from the group after confirming the criminal charges, and eventually terminated his exclusive contract.

Taeil debuted in the music industry in 2016 as a member of NCT U, later joining NCT 127. […]
