[instiz] THE BOYZ JUYEON, ‘FORCED’ POLITICAL COLOR SCANDAL “BUBBLE PROFILE PICTURE, I WAS THOUGHTLESS WHEN I POSTED IT”

The Boys’ Juyeon, whose profile picture on a communication app sparked a political controversy, has indirectly addressed the issue.

On the morning of the 10th, Juyeon changed his profile picture on the paid communication app Bubble and changed his status message to “refreshing.”

The new profile picture shows a back view of Juyeon wearing a red hoodie and staring off into the distance near a Ferris wheel in Yokohama, Japan. He has since deleted the profile picture.

Some netizens who saw the profile picture reacted that Juyeon was showing his political colors by wearing red, which symbolizes the conservatives. Most celebrities wear neutral colors or black and white photos in front of polling stations to avoid showing their political colors.

However, the profile picture and status message were changed at around 2 a.m. on the 10th, before voting began for the 22nd National Assembly election, and the “refreshing” status message had nothing to do with the general election.

The Boyz were traveling overseas that day, and some people said they “didn’t know what they were doing” because it wasn’t a voting photo. In fact, The Boyz attended the ASEA 2024 in JAPAN  at Kanagawa K Arena Yokohama, Japan at 5:30 p.m. on the same day.

On the afternoon of the 11th, Juyeon posted on his Bubble, “Can I post this now? I posted it too thoughtlessly. I had something I wanted to buy shipped from overseas, so I wanted to wear it before I went to Japan to show it off. Anyway, the weather is nice,” and then changed his profile picture back to that photo.

1. It’s fine as long as he deleted it

2. He wasn’t even at a voting poll and he took it in Japan. People are triggered over the smallest things

3. It happens

4. Being a celebrity is so hard

5. Making a big deal out of nothing

6. This didn’t even seem intentional. Imagine turning this into a controversy

7. I’m so tired of people making a big deal out of nothing… are they acting this way towards celebs who wear blue too? Seriously, live in real life a bit…

8. Huh? Is this even worth a controversy…..? So we can only dress in monochromatic during the elections?

9. Stop hating on Juyeon and change the colors of the political parties instead

10. Huh? I only learned about this through the news
