The boy group RIIZE has been swept up in a vocal performance controversy.
On the 16th, RIIZE participated in the Hanteo Music Awards, hosted by Hanteo Chart, known as the “foundation of Korean music,” where they performed two songs, Hug and BOOMBOOMBASS, live. Some netizens criticized the group’s live singing, calling their performance unstable. The stage went viral on X (formerly Twitter) under the title “The Worst Vocal Show 3 Hits in a Row.”
On an online community, comments included: “Only two members consistently do well, while the rest struggle to stay on pitch, it’s the worst vocals,” “Compared to girl groups, the response is much more lenient,” and “Honestly, more than half the members are really bad.”
However, others defended the group, saying, “They did better than expected,” “It’s not bad enough to deserve this much criticism,” and “Even when they perform well overall, people maliciously edit clips of weaker moments, post them online, and jump at the chance to criticize.”
Meanwhile, RIIZE won three awards at the Hanteo Music Awards: the Main Prize (Bonsang) for Artist of the Year, The Most Prime Group, and Best Trend Leader.
1. My recommendations are flooded with all kinds of live videos of that group..
2. Is this really worth writing an article over?.. Just looking at the account that RT’ed this, I can tell that the person isn’t normal
3. A troll account created such a mess
4. You can write an article but why use Pann as source?
5. Was it really “evil”…? We are just calling “bad” something that is bad
6. But where is the “evil editing” in their live?.. It’s not like you could manipulate the sound or anything
7. They were indeed bad. It’s not like only 1 or 2 members were bad..
8. But it’s still better to sing raw live instead of pretending to be good with AR
9. Do people write article based on Pann now?
> They do it a lot..
10. They are making a controversy out of anything now. Does everyone have that much time on their hand?
