It broke another world record with just its first-week viewership (specifically, a new record for opening week).

Previously, the first-week viewership record holder was Wednesday with 50 million views, but this surpasses that by a wide margin.

With just its first-week viewership, it became the 7th highest-ranking non-English Netflix production of all time.

Also, it’s now the 2nd highest first-week viewership among Korean original productions (previously, 2nd place was All of Us Are Dead and 3rd place was The Glory).

For comparison, All of Us Are Dead had a total of around 60 million views, but Squid Game 2 surpassed that with just its first-week viewership, making it the 2nd highest Korean Netflix original.

Similarly, this first-week record alone secured it 7th place among all non-English Netflix productions.

In other words, Squid Game 2 has only revealed its first-week numbers, but those alone have already surpassed the total viewership of most other major productions.

1. On its first day of release, it ranked #1 in 92 out of the 93 countries where Netflix is officially available, with the exception of New Zealand.

2. Shortly after, it also claimed the #1 spot in New Zealand, making it the first Netflix drama to simultaneously rank #1 in all 93 countries where Netflix is available.  It also became the first title to achieve a perfect score (930 points) on FlixPatrol.

3. It is currently maintaining a perfect score of 930 points for four consecutive days.

4. It recorded 68 million views in its first week, marking the highest first-week viewership for a Netflix drama in history.
