Their biggest strength was that they were fresh and young compared to their seniority, but as soon as WISH came out, it became too easy to replace them. And they couldn’t go with a stronger concept because 127 already existed. Within Dream itself, they just couldn’t find a clear direction for their concept. ISTJ was ISTJ… but even for Smoothie, it was a song that should’ve never been released…

It just feels like they’ve hit their limit.. From the start, they weren’t meant to be a fixed group but were supposed to rotate members, so the lineup and concept don’t align with what SM typically goes for. Plus, their concept was based on youth, which isn’t sustainable in the long run. They did manage to reach the top of the idol industry during the process, like you said, now they’re stuck in an awkward position between 127 and WISH. The next step is a crucial moment for them

In my opinion, since they were planned as a teenage rotation team, it feels like their song selection range has become limited in terms of skill. If they were an actual team, they would have considered the future and balanced their vocals with lower tones, midrange, and high notes, but they were only thinking of bright music for their teenage years when putting together the lineup. Regardless of their talent level, all the vocals are in a higher pitch, and there are four rappers, but only one is strong, so the genres they can do at their age have become too limited. This has nothing to do with the debut of WISH. Even without WISH, they would still age so..

Their skills haven’t improved either so…

It’s a situation where fans can’t help but switch to WISH. The company is pushing WISH with strong connections, just like Dream, and they’re doing well with their work. Who wouldn’t switch over?
