It’s such a K-pop mindset to dislike being associated with politicians. The fact that K-pop idols are indifferent to social issues is exactly why the West sometimes finds it laughableㅎㅎ Even with Lisa, there’s the narrative of her challenging the U.S. market as an Asian artist, and if Lisa can get younger K-pop fans interested in politics, it’s actually a positive thing since it encourages political participation.

As soon as I heard the lyrics of New Woman, I thought of Harris. They are alike in a sense of an Asian woman challenging mainstream American society. Lisa’s also a cat ladyㅋ It feels like a natural progression for Lisa to write songs tooㅋ

Her influence is f*cking big. After Taylor revealed her support to the Democratic Party, celebrities went to like her postㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ You’re telling me that this gives her a bad look? Lisa is the one who’s staying still but the point is that they were the ones who used New Woman

It’s true that this could give her a bad look but what’s sure is that Lisa’s song will become so popular after this. New Woman is such a good song too

With New Woman”being used for the VMAs and as campaign promotion music, I think its ranking will rise even more. What I really feel is a bit of regret is wondering how it would have turned out as a solo song for Lisa. Rosalia’s vocals were amazing and definitely enhanced the song’s quality, but because it’s in Spanish… I wonder how it would’ve been if Lisa took over Rosalia’s part with some rapping, maybe like Lisa’s sing-rap style in Shoong.
