The beginning was really great. J’s deep tone is this group’s strength, and I think they made good use of it this time. Followed by Sieun’s rap part, it was solid. But aside from Sieun’s rap, I wonder if they really needed to add that much nasality to the other parts. Personally, aside from Sieun’s rap, the other parts gave me a bit of a headache, making me hesitant to listen again. I actually found Seeun and Isa’s more straightforward vocal style much more comfortable. It seems like they did it to bring out the song’s vibe, but for me, it wasn’t appealing (though I can see how some might like it). In the later chorus, when Isa sang the same part, it actually suited her better since she naturally has a bit of nasality in her tone. After listening to everything, the parts that stuck with me were the beginning and the middle, specifically J and Sieun’s rap. J is really good at shifting the song’s atmosphere, and Sieun’s rap was clean and punchy, making them a great duo. Overall, the beat and flow were good, but… hmm… something still felt missing? It seemed like it was going to be amazing, but then left a bit to be desired. I think the reaction will be better than Cheeky Icy Thang though.
