Girl groups have Kiiikiiii and Hearts2Hearts, with even teenagers debuting, but for boy groups, NCT and SEVENTEEN are still considered A-list… It’s not that I hate boy groups but since being a celebrity is a profession that involves a lot of consuming an image, things usually move quickly, and it doesn’t seem like that’s happening for male idols, which is frustrating. I know about teams like BOYNEXTDOOR, RIIZE, TWS, NCT WISH, and ZB1, but these teams feel kind of lukewarm.
+) I didn’t mean to criticize any specific idols or fandoms. It’s just that when I heard the news about Kiiikiii and Hearts2Hearts debuting, I thought, ‘There are a lot of girl groups debuting, but for boy groups, there are only rumors about debuts, and major agencies aren’t releasing them as much.’ As someone who also follows boy groups, I felt frustrated and wrote this post

But the general public is actually moving towards RIIZE and BOYNEXTDOORㅋㅋㅋㅋ NCT and SEVENTEEN are all there with fandom power

NCT DREAM also suddenly flopped

Isn’t it because the idol industry is way too saturated nowadays? SM is also releasing another boy group.. And everyone keeps debuting groups. But there’s not a single group bringing a totally new concept… If you’re going to give us nothing, better not give us anything and wait

Boy groups have all the fandoms and girl groups have the general public. And aside from it, with the international pie growing, the lifespan of the idols are growing too. This is why there’s barely any place for new boy groups. But there’s still some interest for big agencies’ boy groups. There’s no interest for mid-size companies boy groups anymore

Carat and Czennies are not gonna switch to the next rookie groups of their companies… Czennies would still support Shotaro and Sungchan for RIIZE but Carats really only look at SEVENTEEN. WISH also has a lot of foreigner members so you can consider them successful already with good early friction. And for ZB1, they’re a time-limited group so they’ll have huge limitations. BND are doing well but Ador became such a roadblock to fandom entry. But their songs are fine? They kinda remind me of a 3rd gen group..
