[NETIZENBUZZ] NEWJEANS, INJUNCTION HEARING ON BAN OF INDEPENDENT ACTIVITIES ENDS IN 15 MINUTES – HELD BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

The group NewJeans, currently in a contract dispute with ADOR, concluded a court hearing on their objection to an injunction decision in just 15 minutes.

On April 9, the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Agreement Division 50 (Presiding Judge Kim Sang-hoon) held a hearing for the objection filed by the NewJeans members against the injunction that granted ADOR’s request to prohibit “maintenance of agency status and signing of advertising contracts.”

At the request of NewJeans, the hearing was held behind closed doors, with only legal representatives from both sides present. The hearing ended after about 15 minutes, and the court is expected to issue a ruling soon.

The hearing was conducted privately at the request of NewJeans and concluded in approximately 15 minutes. The members of NewJeans did not attend.

ADOR’s legal representative stated after the hearing, “There hasn’t been any particular change since the injunction decision,” but refrained from commenting on the specific details of the discussion. NewJeans’ legal team left the court without making any statement.

On March 21, the same court (Civil Agreement Division 50) had fully granted the injunction filed by ADOR on January 6, which aimed to prevent the members from acting independently in terms of agency and advertisement contracts. The court stated, “ADOR has mostly fulfilled its major obligations under the exclusive contract, including settlement duties,” and added, “There is a demonstrated need to restrict the members’ entertainment and commercial activities prior to a final ruling.”

NewJeans immediately filed an objection to the decision. Their side stated, “We plan to raise additional issues through the objection procedure and will provide as much supporting evidence as possible,” and added, “A main lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract between ADOR and the members is also underway. At the hearing scheduled for April 3, we will once again assert that the contract was lawfully terminated.”

Am I the only one annoyed that they spent a whole year going crazy trying to manipulate public opinion, acting all loud and now that public opinion is turned against them, they’re hiding and nowhere to be seen? Where did all those ‘brave revolutionaries’ go? Do they only show up when it’s time to peddle anti-Korean narratives to foreign media?

They talked as if they were going to bring evidence to overturn the injunction in the objection, but they said they had nothing to say in the objection ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
