What they all have in common is that they are considered the most visual members of the groups that are currently leading K-pop. This is true not only in Korea, but also in Japan, where ‘JangSaKaWon’ is the face that Japanese teenagers want to be.
Jang Wonyoung, Sana, Karina and Wonhee were among the top three in a recent survey on the “faces they want to be now” conducted by LIP, a beauty platform application operated by AppBrew, from the 13th to the 20th of last month.
The poll included 2,046 participants between the ages of 10 and 40, and the results showed that the top 10 “faces Japanese teens want to be” include a number of K-pop girl group members, including Jang Wonyoung, Sana, Karina, and Wonhee. The top three were Hashimoto Kanna (1st), Jang Wonyoung (2nd), and Hamabe Minami (3rd).
Last year, the same survey had Jang Wonyoung, NMIXX’s Sullyoon, and Karina taking the top three spots. “Following last year’s dominance of Korean idols, we can see that teenagers have a strong desire for Korean idols,” said LIP.
