NewJeans Celebrated New Year in Japan and the US, Same Event as President Joe Biden

Participating in the largest New Year’s program in the U.S.

Recently, NewJeans had an extremely busy schedule, continuously participating in award ceremonies and year-end music festivals. Additionally, in the last two days of 2023, NewJeans celebrate the new year by appearing in several major events in both the U.S. and Japan.

In particular, the girl group performed at the largest New Year’s Eve program in the U.S., “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest”

This year’s “Rockin’ Eve” is known to have been attended by the U.S. President Joe Biden and his wife, who offered New Year’s wishes to all the people in the U.S. The lineup included 23 top stars from the United States, such as Post Malone, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Ellie Goulding, Green Day, 30 Seconds to Mars, Nile Rodgers and Chic, Ludacris, and more.

It is known that NewJeans is the only Kpop artist to participate in this program and the first K-pop female artist to be invited in the history of Rockin’ Eve.

At “Rockin’ Eve”, NewJeans stirred up the countdown atmosphere in New York with “Super Shy” and later with “ETA” for the countdown in Los Angeles (due to different time zones in the U.S.). The group’s trendy music, fresh dance moves, and youthful energy perfectly suited the spirit of welcoming the new year.

All in all, NewJeans stole the hearts of many US audiences with their energetic stages, graceful movements, and the irresistible charisma of the 5 girls.

Celebrating the New Year in Japan’s top-tier countdown program

Alongside rocking the stage in the US, NewJeans also celebrated the New Year in Japan with their participation in NHK’s Kouhaku Uta Gassen – a top countdown program in the country. Here, the girl group performed alongside star Japanese singers, as well as K-pop artists famous in Japan like SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, TWICE Misamo, and LE SSERAFIM.

By performing at Rockin’ Eve and Kouhaku Uta Gassen within less than 24 hours, NewJeans became the first Asian artist to appear simultaneously on the two most popular New Year’s programs in the two largest music markets in the world. This is an incredible achievement for a girl group that just debuted in 2022.

Meanwhile, on December 30, NewJeans also participated in the 2023 Japan Record Awards and won an award with “Ditto”.

Not only succeeding domestically but also spreading influence in North America, the 5 girls show great potential in the world’s second-largest music market – Japan. As a result, the hashtag #NewJeans_is_Everywhere can be seen trending on SNS platform X, provingg that NewJeans was indeed making waves everywhere.
