Jeon Jiyoon, a member of the group 4Minute, revealed her current status as a web novel writer.
Jeon Ji-yoon of 4Minute drew attention by being introduced as a web novel writer. Greeting the audience by saying, “I used to be active as a singer, and now I am working as a web novel writer,” she stated, “I kept my work as a web novel writer a secret, so people didn’t know, but they reached out to me. When the topic of “qualities of a web novel enthusiast” came up, Jeon Jiyoon said, “I went on a trip, but I was so curious about the next chapter that I wanted to get back to my accommodation right away. I stopped sightseeing and went back in to read it. My friend who was with me also reacted by saying, ‘You seriously are the real deal.'”
Jeon Jiyoon added, “Web novels offer the fun of an experience. Short-form content provides strong stimulation quickly, but when reading web novels, even the same sentence is interpreted differently by each person.”
Jeon Jiyoon explained the reason she decided to become a web novel writer, saying, “I used to just enjoy reading them, but then I thought, ‘What if I tried writing one myself?’ The government happened to be offering a free academy program, so I applied. I had an interview, passed, became an outstanding student, signed a writer contract there, and made my debut.”
Jeon Jiyoon, who is active in secret using a pen name, added, “I thought about whether revealing my identity would be good for me, and I didn’t think so, so I haven’t been able to make it public.”
