[theqoo] AFTER IDOL GROUP SEVENTEEN’S PHOTOCARDS WERE GIFTED AFTER DONATING BLOOD, THE NUMBER OF DONORS HAVE INCREASED BY 69%

When the idol group Seventeen’s ‘photo card’ was provided as a souvenir of blood donation, the number of new blood donors increased by 69%.

13 centers affiliated with the Seoul Southern Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross have provided Seventeen photo cards to blood donors since the 12th. This is to encourage young people to participate in blood donation by adding a photo card to the existing cultural gift certificate and hamburger set exchange voucher. 

The Korean Red Cross’s intention to attract new blood donors worked. According to reports, the number of new blood donors during the event increased by 68.8% compared to before. Compared to the similar period last year, the number of blood donors increased by 80.6%. Among new blood donors, the proportion of people in their teens and twenties was 81.7%.

An official from the Korean Red Cross said in a media interview, “We prepared a total of 1,000 photo cards, but the response was so good that we have ordered more,” and added, “The Red Cross also believes that idol photocards are very effective in attracting new blood donors.”
