This just in.
Jeju Air Flight 7C101, which departed Gimpo Airport at 6:30 a.m. this morning and was headed to Jeju, made an emergency turnaround due to an aircraft defect.
According to passengers on board, the flight departed normally at 6:30, but after an emergency turnaround over Pyeongtaek City due to an airframe defect, the plane landed back at Gimpo Airport 20 minutes later.
While no one was reportedly injured in the emergency turnaround, passengers were unsettled by Jeju Air’s lack of communication about the reason for the turnaround.
Shortly after landing, it was confirmed that the emergency turnaround was due to a landing gear issue.
Jeju Air announced on social media that the flight was scheduled to depart again at 8 a.m. after a safety check, but that further delays were possible.
