[theqoo] BOA, BEYONG “CRINGE-WORTHY” OR “BLANKET KICK”… DRUNKEN SKINSHIP LIVE WITH JUN HYUNMOO CAUSES STIR

TV personality Jun Hyunmoo and singer BoA have sparked self-made dating rumors after an unexpected, tipsy Instagram live stream.

On April 5, Jun Hyunmoo went live on his personal social media account. He said, “Someone keeps telling me to go live,” and revealed that BoA had come over to his place.

With a flushed face, Jun Hyunmoo said, “I’ve been drinking. Your face is now on camera,” and showed BoA’s face on screen. BoA responded with, “I like you,” and was seen leaning her head on his shoulder in a natural display of physical affection. When Jun Hyunmoo told her, “You look really pretty,” BoA playfully responded, “I’m always pretty.” She also made an “X” with her fingers, suggesting that Jun’s public persona doesn’t reflect his real self.

BoA and Jun Hyunmoo are known to have become close through the MBC show I Live Alone. During the live, Jun read a fan’s comment asking if he was dating comedienne Park Narae. BoA brushed her hair back and firmly said, “I don’t think so. She can’t date.” When Jun asked, “Why? Is Narae too good for me?” BoA replied, “No, you’re too good for her.” Jun seemed taken aback and asked, “Are you sure you’re okay saying this? It’s going out live,” to which BoA replied, “I don’t care. I’m more of an AfreecaTV kind of person,” rambling on.

After the live, rumors of a romance between Jun Hyunmoo and BoA exploded online. Netizens also criticized BoA for her insensitive remarks about Park Narae, questioning her character. Interestingly, during the stream, BoA had mentioned she was preparing her 25th anniversary album—this year marks 25 years since her 2000 debut with her first album ID:PEACE B. However, it seems that instead of her anniversary album gaining attention, it’s the drunken live stream with Jun Hyunmoo that’s stealing headlines.

Jun Hyunmoo’s comment section has since been flooded with people demanding clarification: “This was my first time watching your live—so disappointing,” “That live… totally cringe,” “How old are you both to be doing this drunk live and talking recklessly about others?”

Jun Hyunmoo is 47, and BoA is 38. Drinking together at someone’s home isn’t inherently problematic, nor are gestures like leaning on each other’s shoulders or touching each other’s faces—these can easily fall under the category of “close friends.” However, BoA’s stern remarks about Jun and Park Narae not being able to date, and that “Jun is too good for her,” were inappropriate regardless of their friendship, especially given that it was broadcast live. What’s more frustrating is that she broadcasted this behavior herself during such a milestone year in her career.

Alcohol wears off eventually, and after a moment of recklessness, one has to return to everyday life. As the hangover from this drunken skinship live lingers, all eyes are now on how the two will respond.

1. Why are they…ㅠㅠ flirting so much..

2. Ah this is just so disappointing. I’m completely turned off

3. They are so f*cked up. They look insecure

4. We need to get rid of those drunken livestream

5. Seems like BoA is into men like Jun Hyunmoo

6. What a shame. The things they said were so rude

7. Watching that really made me think, I never want to age that disgracefully. Even when regular people act like that drunk, it’s embarrassing.. so for public figures with influence to do it on a live stream? Just shameful

8. I thought that when people said that they mentioned other celebrities, it was made up..

9. Seriously, what wrong have the other celebrities who were just staying still done?? They need to at least do another official livestream to apologize publicly

10. I used to be a fan but I’m so shocked and turned off.. sigh
