[theqoo] BTS BOOSTS LOCAL ECONOMIES ACROSS THE U.S…. WINS SPECIAL AWARD “CONCERT VALUE ESTIMATED AT 110,5 BILLION WON”

While BTS is currently on tour in North America, they received a special award from El Paso County.

On the morning of April 27 (local time), the El Paso County Commission in Texas presented BTS with the “Estimado Amigo” award.

The commission also approved a resolution designating May 2–3, the dates of their concerts, as “El Paso BTS Weekend.”

El Paso County recognized that BTS’s concerts contribute to boosting local tourism and fostering community pride, while helping to highlight El Paso as a major concert destination. The county also highly praised the social messages and public-spirited values conveyed through BTS’s music.

In particular, Brooke Underwood, Executive Director of the El Paso Convention & Visitors Bureau, projected that the two-day concert would generate an economic impact of $75 million (approximately 110.5 billion won) for the local economy.
