Germans even heat up their leftover drip coffee in the microwave the next day
QRT:
I’m writing this as a public service announcement… Please don’t drink coffee that has been left at room temperature for a long time. Coffee is essentially an extract of beans, so it contains a lot of fat. Regardless of the type of coffee, if it’s left at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours, bacteria will rapidly multiply. How do I know this? Our department is currently researching this with our professor and undergraduate students, and we’re planning to publish it in a regional academic journal.
@ But the funny thing is, when I wake up, I know I shouldn’t drink leftover coffee, but I end up drinking the leftover coffee that was left there the entire night 😭
@ Because… I was watching over it to make sure it didn’t spoil. I ended up laughing so hard I got a runny nose
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ When I was an undergrad, my molecular biology professor said they would never drink cold brew coffee. They said that at room temperature, the nutrients and moisture perfectly match the conditions for bacterial growth. I was like, “Ah…” but still, I drink it anyway
1. I’ll tough it up
2. I’ll keep watching over the coffee, it’s okay
3. I’m sipping through the same coffee all day
4. I’ll overcome it
5. It’s wrong to live a life that’s too clean~~~~
6. Humans are a bunch of germs already~
7. I already hate cold brew, this made me hate it even more
8. But you don’t die from drinking it
9. So I can just put it in the fridge?
