Jin, the member of BTS, is preparing to make his solo comeback this May.

A representative from BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed to Dispatch on April 14,

“Jin is currently working on a new album, aiming for a May release. Further details will be announced at a later date.”

This marks Jin’s return to the music scene approximately six months after the release of his first solo album Happy in November 2024. The album made a strong showing on the Billboard 200, debuting at No. 4.

It also reached No. 2 on the World Albums chart and No. 3 on Top Album Sales. The title track Running Wild charted at No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Digital Song Sales chart at No. 1.

Other tracks from the album — I’ll Be There, Heart on the Window, Another Level, and Until I Reach You — also charted on Billboard Global (Excl. US), showcasing the album’s international impact.

Beyond music, Jin has remained highly active. He participated as a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, held a solo fan meeting, and received numerous endorsement offers from major brands.

He also maintained his beloved “variety entertainer” image, appearing in BTS’s own web show Run Jin and starring in the Netflix original series Village of Madness. The latter recently topped Netflix Korea’s Top 10 series chart, surpassing even When Life Gives You Tangerines.

Village of Madness, a unique guesthouse-style variety show, features Jin in a sibling-like dynamic with Kian84 and Ji Ye Eun. Viewers have praised Jin’s versatile charm and praised his performance as the show’s all-around MVP employee.

With a new album on the horizon, fans are eagerly awaiting what Jin will bring next in his solo chapter.
