[theqoo] HYBE, BTS COMPLETELY DISCHARGED BY JUNE “NEED TIME TO PREPARE” FOR FULL GROUP ACTIVITIES

At the regular shareholders’ meeting of HYBE held in Mapo-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 31st, the CEO stated regarding BTS, “The BTS members are scheduled to complete their military service by the end of the first half of this year and return. After their return, they will need time for preparation and work for future activities.”

He continued, “The company is also preparing in discussion with top-tier (highest-level) songwriters, but the artists (BTS members) themselves need time for reflection and preparation.”

The CEO added, “Normally, we work on songs, release albums, and then proceed with tours, but since BTS has already risen to the level of global top artists, we are continuing discussions about their vision and the ‘next’ step. It is necessary to think about and adjust to the direction in which they will move forward.”

BTS members will all be discharged in June. RM and V, who enlisted as active-duty soldiers in the Army, will be discharged together on June 10, while Jimin and Jungkook will become civilians on June 11. Suga, who has been serving as a social service worker, will be discharged on June 22.
