From May 18, 2022, when Kim Saeron had her DUI accident, to February 19, 2025, I reviewed 5,082 articles found by searching for ‘Kim Saeron’ on 49 media outlets with over 200,000 subscribers to Naver News’ ‘Media Outlet Editorial Board’ and 24 media outlets featured on News Stand’s Sports/Entertainment section (SpotalKorea, GameDongA, and Sports Choonchoo were excluded due to the lack of relevant articles).

Before Kim Saeron’s d**th, there were 3,881 reports, with entertainment media outlets overwhelmingly covering the story. OSEN reported the most at 302 articles, followed by Xports News with 265, Sports Chosun with 215, Star News with 183, Newsen with 162, Sports Today with 159, TenAsia with 158, and My Daily with 157 articles. These outlets repeatedly published similar articles, playing a significant role in spreading the controversy.

After Kim Saeron’s d**th, from February 16 to 19, 2025, a total of 1,201 reports were made. In just four days, the specialized news channel YTN reported 63 articles, Xports News reported 51, and My Daily and OSEN each reported 47 […]

YouTuber Lee Jin-ho, who actively criticized Kim Saeron and raised various allegations about her private life, changed his related videos to private after the d**th of the deceased and the subsequent criticism. Lee Jin-ho had covered several allegations against Kim Saeron on his broadcast after the DUI incident, and the media recklessly reported on them, causing the controversy to resurface.
