[theqoo/instiz] NCT WISH’S ATTITUDE CONTROVERSY… “NO SINCERITY” VS “NO SOCIAL SKILLS + VARIETY SKILLS”

Debate continues over NCT WISH’s broadcast attitude

The broadcast behavior of the group NCT WISH (Sion, Yushi, Riku, Sakuya, Ryo, Jaehee) has sparked ongoing debate.

Recently, NCT WISH appeared as guests on SBS PowerFM’s ‘Cultwo Show at 2PM’. Throughout the show, they maintained a noticeably passive demeanor. Despite the hosts’ efforts to keep the energy up by leading conversations and encouraging reactions, the members responded with quiet voices and blank expressions, dampening the overall atmosphere.

The DJs asked them to participate in a challenge segment, but only a few members joined in, while the others simply watched without reacting, offering only faint smiles. It was senior idol Chuu, who appeared on the show with them, who tried to lift the mood, cheering the participating member with both arms raised and giving reactions alone.

In the end, the DJs remarked pointedly “WISH has completely frozen up,” “Someone’s struggling all alone here,” and “Thank you for continuing your promotions despite having such a difficult vibe.”

The episode quickly spread across various online communities, becoming a hot topic of controversy. Many criticized the group for not even appearing to make an effort, with some going so far as to suggest they’ve caught a case of “celebrity disease.” Others pointed out that their lack of enthusiasm reflects a common pattern among idols from large agencies, where some come off as overly passive and unmotivated on variety shows.

On the other hand, a minority have come to the group’s defense, noting the members’ young age and Japanese nationality. These defenders argue that the issue stems from their inexperience with broadcast media, a lack of natural flair for variety shows, and underdeveloped communication or social skills rather than arrogance or indifference.

1. Don’t come out on boarcast

2. Ah I’m so f*cking jealous of their easy life

3. It feels like they’re forcing themselves into that concept

4. They’re just frustrating and hard to watch

5. At the end of the day, they know they’ll still earn money. I’m jealous

6. They’re freaking boring, and they don’t care. That attitude of theirs is problematic

7. The impression they make does feel like they have no sincerity. It’s my first time seeing idols like that

8. Acting like that shows a lack of manners to the people you’re appearing on broadcast with

9. If people don’t think this is problematic, then you can expect them to stay like that and promote all their life~

10. If you’re getting money to work, then work

[instiz] KIM TAE-KYUN’S REACTION TO ASKING A JAPANESE MEMBER WHERE HIS HOMETOWN IS AND WHAT’S POPULAR ABOUT HIS HOMETOWN

KTK: There has to be a food that Saitama is known for

Sakuya: There’s none

KTK: Aren’t onsens popular?

Sakuya: No

👤 What is Saitama known for?
🥐 … There’s that thing, the Super Arena!
👤 Are there any food they’re known for?
🥐 … There’s none
👤 Aren’t onsens popular?
🥐 No…

1. Wow they deserve to have a controversy

2. They really talked like that?

3. They’re really giving such simple answers, can’t he just say something like “they’re known for sweets”?

4. Wow…

5. Can’t they come up with something to say…

6. If those aren’t popular, can’t he just think of anything else that’s popular? This is literally basic conversational skills and they’re lacking. How did he become an idol?

7. Is the company forcing them into this “resisting” concept? I just don’t get it

8. Imagine coming back and acting like that ㅋㅋㅋ This is even weirder

9. He has zero sense

10. No but if you don’t know what’s popular, just say what you like, name any food ㅠㅠ …
