[theqoo] IS THIS CONSIDERED CHEATING?

I work in Gyeonggi-do, and my wife is a full-time housewife raising our elementary school-aged child and a 5-year-old in Busan.

Usually, I go down to Busan once every three weeks.

As a hobby, I play a game called League of Legends. Right before the Lunar New Year holiday, I ended up playing with some acquaintances, and among them was a woman in her 20s. At the time, I couldn’t go to back Busan because of work, and that woman happened to be in a similar situation, so we ended up spending most of the holiday playing games together and got closer. 

Since then, we’ve been playing together for about 4–5 hours almost every day after I get off work.

But now, some of my friends I play with are saying that, as a married man, constantly playing and chatting on Discord with a woman in her 20s feels like cheating.

<Acquaintance’s Claim>

Playing games together from after work until bedtime, and almost all day on weekends if you’re not in Busan; coordinating your schedules via KakaoTalk; showing us her pictures and bragging about her; being in a Discord call even when you’re not gaming, watching YouTube together, small talk, playing games like the “ideal type world cup”, all of that goes beyond just sharing a hobby. It’s an emotional cheating.

<My Response>

She knows I’m married, we’ve never met in person, and we’re just gaming together, so I don’t understand why people are calling this cheating. We’re meeting for the first time at an upcoming group gathering, and those saying it’s inappropriate or that it makes them uncomfortable are just being nosy.
