Inje University Busan Paik Hospital received 200 million won from Park Jinyoung, a singer and the representative producer of JYP Entertainment (JYP), for the surgery, treatment, and rehabilitation of pediatric and adolescent patients from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
On December 10 (Tuesday), a donation ceremony was held at JYP’s headquarters in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, with Park Jinyoung, Vice President Byun Sang-bong, Busan Paik Hospital Director Lee Yeon-jae, and Social Work Office Director Park Byung-hee, among others, in attendance.
On this day, Producer Park Jinyoung donated a total of 1 billion won, giving 200 million won each to five hospitals (Yonsei University Medical Center, Jeju National University Hospital, Gangneung Asan Hospital, Kyungpook National University Hospital, and Busan Paik Hospital).
Busan Paik Hospital plans to use the funds to support the treatment costs for pediatric and adolescent patients under 20 years old from vulnerable groups, including those with severe pediatric cancers, rare and incurable diseases, premature infants, and children with disabilities.
Producer Park Jinyoung stated, “I have two daughters, aged 5 and 4. I have been interested in children for a long time, and when my own daughters occasionally fall ill and need to go to the hospital, it makes me feel quite overwhelmed. I thought about how difficult it must be for parents facing such challenges, and that led me to donate for treatment costs. I hope the children will receive the care they need, and I will continue to work hard to be able to donate even more in the future.”
