Below is Golden Medalist’s statement:
Hello, this is Gold Medalist.
We would like to share our official stance regarding the film Real.
First and foremost, we offer our condolences for the late actress Choi Jinri.
The role of the female lead, Song Yoo-hwa, played by the late Choi Jinri, included a bed scene from the script. Therefore, during the casting process, we specifically sought an actress who was capable of performing scenes involving nu**ty. Just as job advertisements often include essential qualifications, the role of Song Yoo-hwa required nu**ty as part of the character’s setting, so it was something that needed to be communicated in advance. We believe it would have been more burdensome and coercive to discuss such scenes after the casting process was completed.
The script, which was shared with the late Choi Jin-ri and her agency at the time, also included a bed scene, and there were guidelines regarding the level of exposure in the materials describing the character of Song Yoo-hwa. Furthermore, when the contract was drawn up, a separate clause regarding the extent of nu**ty was included. The late Choi Jin-ri and her agency thoroughly reviewed all the details before making the decision to participate. However, since bed scenes require a great deal of courage from the actors, the production team took adequate preparatory steps, and the late Choi Jin-ri was fully aware of the bed scene and participated in the filming with that knowledge.
Regarding the concerns raised by her older brother:
▲ Bed Scene Filming: The late Choi Jin-ri was fully informed and prepared before filming the bed scene.
▲ Stand-in Actor: A “standing actor,” who did not perform the acting but substituted for the actor in the preparatory stages to assist, was used, rather than a stand-in actor for the performance itself.
Attached are fact verification statements from Real’s assistant director Kim Joong-ok and script supervisor Lee Jun-hyun, who were involved in filming all scenes, including the bed scene. Additionally, we would like to clarify that the script, storyboards, and filming were the responsibility of the production team, and that actor Kim Soohyun, who participated in the film, had no involvement in these matters.
As confirmed by the testimonies of key staff members, the late Choi Jinri and her agency were fully aware of the Song Yoo-hwa role and its requirements. It is impossible for any production to force an actor to perform a bed scene or a n**e scene without their consent.
Lastly, we have never contacted the late Choi Jin-ri’s mother, nor do we have her contact information.
We understand that you may be curious about the truth behind some things you heard at the funeral. However, it is difficult to accept that events from over six years ago are being brought up now and that untrue claims are being posted on social media as if they were personal experiences.
We ask that you please stop spreading baseless speculation, which only hurts the people who poured their love and passion into the making of Real.
Furthermore, we ask that you refrain from spreading unfounded rumors by exploiting the current situation of Kim Soohyun. We kindly request that no further speculative statements be made. Thank you.
1. Then show us the contract
2. Disgusting bast**d
3. Seriously I think the oppa is making things worse by speaking up, they should leave Sulli to rest
4. But he also claims he needs to lie because he’s a star
5. Was there an action scene next to Sulli during that scene? Why would they need a stand-in actor for? Huh?
6. So funny, was it in the contract for them to promote this movie only using Sulli’s scenes too?
7. F*ck as expected, there’s not only one victim to this p***. They need to all d**
8. How can anyone believe Kim Soohyun’s side? He’s lying all the time
9. The people who are swearing at the oppa, you guys are disgusting
10. So he’s refuting everything, none of anything he’s involved in is true…
