[theqoo] LEE HANEUL, “G-DRAGON’S SONG WAS BELOW MY EXPECTATIONS”, ULTIMATELY DELETES COMMENT… TAILING OFF IN FACE OF HARSH CRITICISM

Lee Haneul recently praised BLACKPINK’s Rose for her collaboration with Bruno Mars on the song ‘Apt’. He commented, “If we had released our album at the end of the year, we’d have been in big trouble. ‘Apt’ exploded as the biggest hit since PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’. I couldn’t even hear any other songs; they just didn’t stand out.” He also remarked positively, saying, “Looking at it from a good perspective, it’s a blessing in disguise that we dodged Apt.”

However, Lee Haneul was critical of G-Dragon’s recent release ‘POWER’. While expressing his respect for G-Dragon, he said, “I respect GD, but this track was below my expectations. I usually like all of his work, but this time, I felt like if we had released an album alongside this, it would have been fair competition. It’s not that GD’s work was bad; it’s just that our styles are different.”

Lee Haneul also produced a short-form video with the provocative title “GD Was Below Expectations”, which drew criticism from the public. Comments included, “Is it appropriate for a senior artist to stir controversy by mentioning a junior artist like that?” and “Why is he using G-Dragon to grab attention?” Facing backlash, Lee Haneul edited the video and removed the short-form content with the controversial title.

1. If he didn’t like the song, he’s allowed to say that it was bad. Why are you prohibiting him from speaking?;

3. To be honest, it’s true that POWER was below my expectations. But it’s different if someone like be called it bad versus a big senior in the industry calling it bad

4. He hasn’t even released his title track yet so what was he expecting?
