[theqoo] LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST NEWJEANS’ RIGHTS INFRINGEMENT (12.27)

This is Ador.

Our company is taking regular legal action against individuals who post malicious content, such as defamation, insults, s** harassment, malicious slander, and the use of derogatory terms, regarding NewJeans. We would like to update you on the major developments related to these actions.

Firstly, as a result of our previous legal responses, legal punishments have been issued for several criminal acts. The individual who distributed and sold fictitious obscene photos using the artist’s likeness has been fined several million, a sentence that was finalized by the Supreme Court. Additionally, individuals who posted severely insulting comments have also been sentenced to fines in multiple cases. Furthermore, in cases where malicious posts were made anonymously, the perpetrators have been identified, and police investigations and legal procedures are underway for several of them.

In addition, through valuable reports from fans and our own real-time monitoring, we have gathered evidence of actions infringing upon the artist’s rights. We have filed complaints with investigative authorities against numerous individuals who have posted malicious content. This includes individuals who mocked the artist’s nationality and appearance, used derogatory terms, s****alized the artist, or posted demeaning comments and posts. All those responsible for spreading false information, insults, s** harassment, and other malicious posts on domestic and international platforms (such as DC Inside, Ilgan Best, Naver, YouTube) have been included in the complaints.

In the legal response regarding the infringement of the artist’s rights, we are adhering to a zero-tolerance policy and responding severely. We will continue to thoroughly collect evidence through real-time monitoring of all domestic and international channels, and take strong legal action to hold those responsible accountable, even if it takes time.
