Kim Sae-ron Allegedly Dated Singer WOODZ Starting in Early 2021

Claims have surfaced that the late actress Kim Saeron dated singer WOODZ (Cho Seungyoun) between early 2021 and May 2022. This timeline appears to contradict previous statements made by Kim Saeron’s family, who had claimed she was in a relationship with actor Kim Soohyun from 2015—when she was still a MN—until July 2021.

According to entertainment industry sources on April 11, Kim Saeron began dating WOODZ in early 2021 and continued the relationship until May 2022.

Reportedly, Kim Saeron did not keep the relationship with WOODZ a secret from those around her. She frequently liked his posts on social media and anonymously sent a coffee truck to the set when he was filming a music video.

Their relationship is said to have ended around May 2022, the same time Kim Saeron was involved in a drunk driving controversy. The incident allegedly followed the emotional aftermath of their breakup. On May 17 of that year, she canceled her voiceover recording session for the drama Bloodhounds, and it was later revealed that she began drinking that evening and drove while intoxicated the following morning.

Previously, in March, Kim Saeron’s family had claimed via the YouTube channel GaroSero Institute that Kim dated actor Kim Soohyun from late 2015 to July 7, 2021. They released text messages Kim had sent to acquaintances during her lifetime, where she reportedly said, “We dated from November 19, 2015, to July 7, 2021. I was 16 years old, and he was 30. That’s how our 6-year relationship ended.”

She also claimed that, at Kim Soohyun’s suggestion, she signed with his agency GoldMedalist under certain conditions, contributed to rookie casting and visual directing, but was never properly compensated for her efforts.

The family also released several photos as supposed proof of their relationship during her underage years. However, most of the images were found to have been taken after she had reached adulthood in 2019, leading to suspicions of manipulation.

Further complicating the timeline, former journalist and YouTuber Lee Jin-ho stated on April 9 that Kim Soohyun had a different girlfriend from 2016 to 2019, including the final period of his military service. Lee added that Kim Saeron was also reportedly dating someone else in 2019, presenting a video that allegedly shows her holding hands and kissing a man.

In response, the actress’s family denied that the woman in the video was Kim Saeron, stating that she was with a female friend at the time the video was shot.
