A newly discovered asteroid, 2024 YR4, was detected yesterday. Current calculations indicate a 1.4% chance of impact in December 2032.

The map above shows the predicted impact areas. If the asteroid collides with Earth, it is expected to release energy equivalent to 8 megatons of TNT (500 times the power of the Hiroshima bomb).
