The five members of NewJeans have announced a hiatus after finishing their performance in Hong Kong.

With the court’s injunction blocking their independent activities, the group has taken a bold step, emphasizing that this decision is about protecting themselves.

Their agency, ADOR, which is engaged in an ongoing legal dispute with the members, expressed regret over their unilateral announcement, stating, “We hope to meet as soon as possible to discuss the future.”

ADOR reportedly sent a support team to Hong Kong, but they were unable to meet with the members.

As the prolonged conflict deepens, public opinion remains divided.

In interviews with foreign media, some statements—such as “We were disappointed by the court’s decision,” and “It feels like Korea wants to turn us into revolutionaries”—have sparked additional controversy.

The first hearing in the lawsuit over the validity of their exclusive contracts is scheduled for April 3rd. If both sides remain firmly opposed, legal experts predict that a final ruling could take at least three years.
