I recently heard from a contact at ComplexCon who has been helping with the concert preparations that HYBE’s Chairman Bang Sihyuk personally called American officials to pressure them into canceling the NJZ members’ performance. I can’t help but think that today’s sudden statement from the five organizations may be connected to this, though I might be overthinking. I am deeply upset and angry, and it feels like HYBE still sees the members merely as tools for making money, not supporting them or wishing them well, but instead trying to obstruct and exploit them. I have also heard that ADOR has made attempts to interfere as well.

Chairman, when we sent our protest email in April 2024, we requested a response from you, but to this day, we haven’t received any answer. If you have so much to say, why don’t you call us directly? I don’t understand why the chairman of HYBE has personally involved himself in the dispute with ADOR. Do you still believe that HYBE and ADOR are separate entities?

The NJZ members are scheduled to perform at the ComplexCon event in Hong Kong. They are excited and thrilled to show a new side of themselves to their global fans for the first time since breaking free from the terrible situation with HYBE and ADOR. Despite the interference, the Hong Kong ComplexCon performance will proceed as planned, so we ask for your continued interest and support, dear fans.

[theqoo] ADOR “BANG SIHYUK NEVER TRIED TO ENCOURAGE NEWJEANS’ CONCERT CANCELLATION” DENY PARENTS’ CLAIMS

While the parents’ union of singers Minji, Danielle, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein raised suspicions related to Bang Sihyuk and ADOR, Bang Sihyuk, chairman of ADOR and its parent company HYBE, refuted the allegations as unfounded.

ADOR announced its official position on the afternoon of February 19th, saying, “ADOR has never encouraged NewJeans to cancel their performance in Hong Kong.”

They added, “Chairman Bang Sihyuk also confirmed that he has never had any contact regarding NewJeans’ performance in Hong Kong. ADOR requested the organizers to use the official team name ‘NewJeans’ in the same way as requested to the domestic media and to conduct the performance through ADOR based on the exclusive contract.”
